BLACK BEAN HUMMUS

About the Recipe

Black beans are a powerhouse of antioxidants, fiber, protein and minerals. It is a forgotten bean today. Add this to your diet and diversify your source of protein. Black beans provide you with Protein, Vitamin A, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron, Potassium. Try out this easy hummus recipe with the goodness of sesame seeds as well which adds a nutty flavor and crunchy texture.

Ingredients

  • Black beans

  • Virgin coconut oil / Olive oil

  • 5-6 Cloves garlic

  • Sesame seeds

  • Ground coriander seed

  • Fresh cilantro

  • Lime juice

Preparation

  1. Firstly make tahini out of sesame seeds

  2. Boil the black beans, keep it aside, let it cool

  3. Chopped fresh cilantro & garlic.

  4. Puree all the above ingredients with 1 tbsp of lime juice, using a food processor or blender until nice and smooth.

  5. To finish it off, drizzle oil over the top.


Enjoy having healthy hummus with baked tortillas, gluten free roti or as a dip for salads.
