About the Recipe
Ingredients
1 ½ cups of foxtail millet
¼ cup Kodo millet
¼ split yellow moong dal
1 tsp cumin
A pinch of hing (asafoetida)
Preparation
Make sure all the ingredients are measured out.
Firstly rinse all the items thoroughly.
Soak them overnight
Let them dry under the sun for an hour and roast them one by one until golden brown.
Once both the millets are roasted, add moong dal and roast until golden brown. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
Once the cumin roast is slightly browned, add the hing (asafoetida) roast for 2 minutes. Remove from heat.
Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a mixer and grind it into a semi-fine powder. Leave it to cool off for a few minutes before storing.
The health mix powder can be used in many different ways (making porridge, custard, halwa, upma etc).
